Stopilla Sunzu – Reading bound?

Stopilla Sunzu is a Zambian international footballer currently playing for the Congolese side TP Mazembe. Standing at the lofty height of 6 ft 3, the 23 year old has acquired a large amount of admirers with Reading and Arsenal both keen on his signature.  Sunzu scored the winning penalty in the 2012 African Cup Of Nations Final, beating Ivory Coast 8-7 on penalties and win the honour for his native Zambia.

Sunzu

Sunzu mainly operates as a centre back or a defensive midfielder and has the ability to play in several positions. Sunzu’s versatility is a major factor in why he has recieved alot of plaudits and attention. Sunzu is quick, strong and commanding, three essential components that make an effective centre back. He doesn’t shy away from challenges, something that would come in very handy in the premier league. It is hard to tell how Sunzu would adapt to the intensity of the premier league, but there is no doubt he would be able to handle the physical elements of the league.

Sunzu could turn out to be a shrewd signing for Reading, believed to be worth around 3 million. Sunzu could well soon join the extensive list of excellent players that have been produced from the African continent.

Below is a video showcasing his talents, the video is titled ‘Welcome To Arsenal’ but it is believed Reading are now the favorites to sign the Zambian.
